Legal Process Innovation (2 credits – Spring 2025)
Students will develop and implement innovative processes and technological solutions to help legal organizations better serve their clients, create competitive advantage, and reduce overhead in the legal operations. The course will be taught in partnership with the innovation team of an AMLaw100 law firm in a seminar style and structured like a legal innovation department. This structure will allow the use of legal project management and process improvement concepts to help students develop problem-solving, product evaluation, and technology implementation skills. Students will explore opportunities in intelligent automation, R&D in emerging technology, integrating technology into legal services, and technology projects which support digital strategies for law firms, courts and legal clients.
Law Practice Technology (2 credits – Fall 2025)
The Law Practice Technology course provides students with an understanding of current trends in technology for legal practice, as well as hands on experience with a number of tools. Topics covered include cybersecurity, electronic discovery, artificial intelligence, case management, competitive intelligence, and legal analytics.
